We wish we knew!!

Well... Phill sent in his acceptance to Oregon. But, that doesn't mean we are going there unfortunately (we kind of wish we were!) He has interviewed at the U and we expect to hear back by the end of March. If money was not an issue, we would go to Oregon. Phill has been way more impressed with Pacific Univ. If Phill does get into the U, we will most likely stay here...

Oregon or Utah?

Melissa and Phill,
Any word yet on which school you're going to?

Adam and Christy Appear!

Hey guys whats up? Sorry we have been slackers and haven't posted anything yet. I am at work right now. So i promise all post some images later. We are doing good. Last night we went over to Mom and Dads house because Christy left her phone there on Sunday. We watch Next its a different move, but pretty good. Just about every Sunday we go over to Mom and Dad's for dinner which is one of the perks of living in Las Vegas. We always get a great meal on Sunday. The weather is warming up down here. Today the high is suppose to be 70 and 72 tomarrow. Ali is doing well and we enjoy having her around. She is starting to play fetch and she loves to run around in mom and dad's back yard. Angie congrats on getting ur passport pic. Christy and I are both taking 2 classes at CSN. One of them we have together gemology. So thats about whats going on with us. We'll get some pics up later.
Her are some pics when we lived in Hawaii http://picasaweb.google.com/racefan24 . Check them out we miss it and want to go back.

Passports

So I took everyone's advice and got my passport photo taken today. I have an appointment next week with the postal service to get the application done. It was a good thing we started this early because we realized today that Jacob's passport expires TODAY...of all days. So now its his turn to get his picture taken.

We are kind of glad that Makayla is not going, not just for the passport reason, but because she has been so emotional lately!! I think we definetly have a girly girl on our hands. Yes, there are still a few months for her to outgrow this, but still....I think I will be relieved not to have to worry about her and just have a fun vacation where we can relax.

Anyone else have an exciting day??

Game Night!!

About a year ago Phill and I played a really fun game entitled, "Ticket To Ride," and just yesterday we decided to purchase it (its always good to have fun games around when there is nothing to do - like during winter in Utah) We were so excited to play that we immediately invited Ryan, Jacob & Angie over. They gladly accepted (I guess they like us), and that is how our game night began.

Makayla wanted to play with us (you can probably imagine how that went over). She really liked the brightly colored playing cards and she enjoyed knocking the trains off of the table. She also like the brightly colored quilt we let here play on in the living room.

Grannie & Grandpa Carley

A couple of weeks ago Brenda came over to scan some pictures of Val onto the computer, and while she was here she pulled out this picture of Grannie and Grandpa from one of her albums and gave it to me. It is dated Sept 1993 on the back. That would make me ten when this was taken--time flies! Remember those yellow valances, Mom?

Emergency Preparedness

As you can see, we woke up Sunday morning to a blizzard. It was then that we realized...

"If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear."
So what did we do? We decided to make shelves for our downstairs food storage. I call this an early Valentines gift, since I have been asking Jacob to do this for a few months now. I think he did a great job!

Our Little Squealer...

Makayla has become very vocal in the last few weeks. Lately, this is how she has been entertaining herself. I can only imagine the things she will have to say when she learns how to put those squeals into actual words.

Welcome!!

Hey Everyone,
I thought it would be fun to have a family website where we could upload events, such as birthdays, vacations, etc. to a calendar as well as upload pictures and create wish lists (that I know we all have). So I've gone ahead a created a Carley family blog. This blog is private meaning that no one can see our blog, unless you give them our username and password or invite them to do so.
To get started go to
www.blogger.com.
USER ID: carleyfam@gmail.com
PASSWORD: lasvegas
You can post under this ID, but the name will be Carley Family instead of say Melissa or Adam. We won't really know who posted if you do it this way. You are free to use this if it is convenient, but you might want to just go ahead and get your own Google account (which you may already have if you have gmail). That way when you post it will be with your own name and not Carley Family.
After you've logged in, you'll come to a page called Dashboard. This is where you manage your blog. You can click on VIEW BLOG to see our blog. Or you can click on NEW POST and start posting.
Picasa Web Albums, Wish List, and a Google Calendar (there's a link in the right side bar) also come with the Google account so feel free to upload photos, add items to a wish list, and input calendar items. If you happen to have your own Google account, just remember you will have to use the
carleyfam@gmail.com ID to input items into the calendar. When posting, at the bottom is a place where you can type in a label. I would suggest using this as a way to organize our posts. For instance I would have my label be Angie, so that when I click on Angie under the Label heading it will bring up every post I've labeled Angie. This will just make it easier to locate things in the future. You can add labels to anything you like. Its just an easy way to keep things organized. This is a family blog, so it will only work if we use it. Also, you all have power to change the settings or template.
Happy Blogging!

How to Create Your Wishlist

In order for the Wishlist link to work, everyone needs to have a valid e-mail. When you click on the wish list link, it will take you to the shopping page. On the bottom left hand side of the page, there is a spot to search for a wishlist by e-mail. I think this element is going to work best if everyone has a Google or g-mail account. I don't believe hotmail will work. Mine and Jacob's e-mail is jandacarley@gmail.com. It's the same as our hotmail account, only gmail. Please add this to your list of contacts. Let me know if you have any questions.
